Under Saddle |
|
Although every horse and every situation is different, most horses beginning Nature’s View sessions would move into working “under saddle” by the end of the first session. However, once this portion of training has been reached, many times it is beneficial to introduce the horse to various situation through long line work. Therefore, the initial work which takes place during a three day into session may move into under saddle work on the first day in the round pen, followed by long line sessions outside the round pen on day 2 and day 3. Again, every horse is different: remember, a program can be tailored to suit your horse’s needs.
Once the under saddle work begins, the same four components are used to test the horse’s willingness to accept this new “distraction” (movement, direction, rhythm and track). The horse is usually asked to make changes between gaits and changes of direction (both inside and outside turns). This is where the “dance” takes place between you and your horse.
