The bridgework includes lariat work. You can begin by using the coiled lariat to test the horse’s legs, as well as to desensitize the horse’s head. Finish the lariat session by “leading” the horse by the rump, then “dragging” the rope.

When used following the initial four components (movement, direction, rhythm and track), the lariat work creates the first part of the bridgework into work with long lines and work under saddle. The step-by-step procedures help to establish a foundation of trust between you and your horse.
