Police Training: TRAINING THROUGH EXAMPLE MADE SIMPLE
One of the ways that Nature’s View is being used is by local police agencies for officer training. Not only can working with horses benefit officers in the mounted patrol divisions, the local officers in our area are seeing benefits as well. The horse can be seen as a metaphors for any given situation, giving patrolmen and women an opportunity to practice the mindset of being on the street without the danger of a crisis situation.

How can NATURE’S VIEW benefit your company? NATURE’S VIEW can be used to enhance your company’s training program, employee relations, or team-building agenda, and at the same time, save money, increase productivity and give you a great advertising tool. The same mindset that is used to train a horse can be used for corporate training. Since a horse must be oriented to survive in our world, NATURE’S VIEW can be used to assist in the transfer between the worlds. The same system can be used to assist managers in orienting new employees into the procedures of the workplace. In training new employees, companies face the same challenges as horse trainers. Using the system, the horse becomes a metaphor for the employee, allowing managers to practice managerial skills without interfering with or disrupting the flow of the company. So often, employees come into the workplace with relatively little experience and must be trained to do a certain job. The manager’s job is to maximize each employee’s potential and to teach them acceptable routines and behaviors. Using Nature’s View, the mindset is “How can I help you?” as opposed to “Do what I tell you to do.” This takes the pressure off of the trainers and managers to perform. When an employee makes a mistake, the trainer/manager now sees this a positive and not a negative, and now knows where the employee needs help, thereby empowering the employee to be the best the he or she can be. The trainer/manager learns to stay focused on the picture (company goals) and learns not to react emotionally when an employee makes a mistake, thereby setting an example for the employee. This in turn will allow the employee not to become emotional when a mistake is made, thereby disrupting productivity and reducing creativity. The trainer/manager practices patience, listening, teaching through example and more. All of this can be practiced by working with the horse using Nature’s View, therefore not disturbing the flow of the company. Employees can gain from this, which will in turn benefit the company in other ways. Employees can work on communication skills, teamwork, imagination (“If I can imagine it, I can create it”), self-esteem, patience, empathy, parenting skills, while they are becoming more environmentally aware. Because of improvement in listening skills by practicing being “in the zone,” they will be more inclined to be in tune with the changing market and create a more environmentally friendly product. |
